Biography

SCHAREIN was born 1949 in Bassum/Lower Saxony, and now lives in Berlin.

1969-79 he studied art at the art academy in Hamburg with Fritz Seitz and Bazon Brock, at the art academy in Saarbrücken with Oskar Holweck and at the art academy in Berlin, where he state examination as art teacher.

1981-83 studio scholarship from the Karl-Hofer-Gesellschaft.

1988 he gave up his work as a teacher and since then he has been working as fine artist.

Scharein’s works appear in numerious public and private collections, e.g. collection Deutscher Bundestag, Hacke Museum Ludwigshafen, Hubertus Schoeller Stiftung, Leopold-Hoesch-Museum, Museum Heidenheim, Bundeskartellamt collection, Daimler collection, Hoppe-Ritter collection, IBM collection, Piepenbrock collection, Pietzsch collection, Staatsgalerie Stuttgart.
